G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Reviewed

Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, the team who brought us the sensational blockbuster “Transformers” have teamed up again for what is sure to be another blockbuster action-adventure movie. Along with Spyglass Entertainment, the team has brought us “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”, another popular kids Saturday morning cartoon to life on the big screen. I have put a G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie trailer on this page so you can see what everyone is getting so excited about.

Much like the original Transformers movie did, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” is sure to be as entertaining for adults as it is for kids. Adults and children alike are bound to get a kick out of the film as they follow the elite team of G.I. Joe “super soldiers” in their ongoing battle with “super villain” Destro and his expanding secret organization of “Cobra” soldiers.

The storyline for the movie is pretty much what the title states, the rise or beginning of the Cobra organization. The G.I. Joe team attempts to guard a suitcase full of deadly warheads containing self-replicating, destructive nano-bots. Members of what will eventually become Cobra Command steal the warheads for their own evil purposes and that is how the film goes. First the bad guys steal it, then the good guys steal it back, etc., etc., etc. While the plot is pretty basic and the dialogue somewhat chessy, the action is superb and there is enough humor to make “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” enjoyable to watch.
