The Dance Music Charts

Top Hits From The 90's Dance Music Charts

For the many of you who were around in the 1990's with a love for dance music, you will no doubt be aware of the many great songs and artists that occupied the top dance music charts. The popularity of dancing made it possible for artisists to create dance mixes which would regularly cropped up during the 1990's. I have listed several of these hits that ruled the Dance Music Charts in the 90's and got many of us up onto our feet and dancing.

Ce Ce Peniston's ‘Finally'

This dance song made it to the number one position internationally, and there is little wonder why, what with the song's power to get everyone up and dancing on the dance floor. 'Finally' continues to be popular and is played at many dance venues and like the 90's, people still get to their feet the moment that the song starts to play.

Cher's ‘Believe'

Cher's ‘Believe' was released in 1998 and with little surprise, won the Grammy awards, although the song was never known as the platinum dance song. ‘Believe' would quickly soar up to the number one position at a worldwide level. The song was written by Brian Higgins, Matt Gray, Paul Barry, and Stuart McLellan, and sung by the talented and beautiful Cher. Without question, the song gets you in a good mood and makes you want to dance. Click the link above to see our complete Dance Music Chart list.

The Country Music Charts

When it comes to listening to music, country music is by far the most timeless, traditional, bubbly or tear jerking styles you can find. Country songs in general tend to speak about trauma faced in real life experiences. Although a good many of country songs are very impressive, there are some songs that remain quite vague in our minds. A lot of country songs can be found on the jukebox in the truckers food stop or local bar, and most country fans would certainly be familiar with the majority of them. There are also those country ballads that bring back those sad memories which bring tears to our eyes.

This kind of music has made it to the top of the Country music charts a great many times. In fact, these songs are played for a brief time on radio stations and in dance halls. The popularity of these kinds of country songs remains significant only after their release and swiftly loses their popularity before it makes it on the local bar's jukebox or they are sometimes filed away in old cassette boxes.

The Popular Australian Music Charts

There is a very wide variety of music and songs in the Australian music charts from classical to folk music, jazz to pop, and of course the traditional aboriginal music of Australia. In fact, the traditional aboriginal music is thousands of years old and is mainly played on a musical instrument called a didgeridoo. The didgeridoo is traditionally made from several species of Eucalyptus saplings or branches.

The way to play the didgeridoo is done by blowing down the tube making sure that your lips are loose. This technique creates a vibration that echoes down the tube coming out amplified as a drone. It is vitally important that you stay relaxed when blowing into the didgeridoo; by trying too hard you will tighten your muscles too much which contradicts the need for you to create loose lips and face. The didgeridoo is usually accompanied by other musicians playing rhythm sticks and drums which add to the sound effects.

History Of Billboard Music Charts

Almost everyone has heard of Billboard Music Charts. Billboard is best known for covering music, films and even the ringtones we use in our cell phones. It was back in 1884 that the now famous Billboard magazine was originally launched. By 1914 Billboard magazine built-in the first music chart. This music chart counted down all of the most popular songs that were heard in Vaudeville theaters during those days.

Then in 1930 when the jukebox was invented to play records, Billboard began by charting the country's most popular music. Next, in 1936 Billboard magazine came up with a new feature they called "Chart Line". Songs that the radio networks played the most on were listed in Billboard's new Chart Line. By the year 1940, Billboard also began including the Best Selling Record Charts in their magazine. This would be the beginning of Billboard's journey into charting music.

Billboard also began several Country Music charts, some of which includes:

Hot country songs - the popularity on this country music chart is calculated on the basis of how many weekly airplay and sales were made.

Top country recurrents - it plays the popular hit songs that have continuously remained for 20 weeks on the Hot Country songs chart and subsequently slipped down to No. 50.

The year 2006 produced a lot of superb independent films along with a number of major Hollywood productions. The 2006 movie list below is in no particular order and was created to highlight several of the best 2006 movies which are truly worth watching. Here is a list of what I consider to be the best movies of 2006!

“Apocalypto” - Director Mel Gibson's “Apocalypto” is one of my personal favorite films to watch and made it in our list of best 2006 movies. In fact, I feel this amazing motion picture ranks up there with some of the finest adventure films ever made. What is so amazing about this movie is the fact that its starring cast are all a bunch of no-name actresses and actors that no one has ever heard of. This goes to show what a superb directing job Mel Gibson did on this movie. “Apocalypto” takes us to a very colorful and interesting period of world history that has rarely been shown on film until now.
